well, i agree with most of it except hygiene and sex
but that's not the point for this post.
i just want to rant about this particular trait in guys that especially get my goat! ><
i hate penny pinching guys.
alright, to give them some leeway, i dislike [not hate] this trait of their's a lot and i really hope they will know who they are and change for the better.
being in engin for 2 years, i guess my interaction with guys have been rather plentiful for me to start noticing trends in different guys.
the whole trend of guys treating drinks/meals etc wasn't common in jc or anywhere else before entering uni.
but this reality came as a pleasant surprise to me as a young and blur freshie.
but of course, like any normal human being, good things are easy to settle into.
i have to clarify though, i do not expect the treating gesture from guys all the time, in fact i am still a little uncomfortable at times when guys get too generous
[all of these happen as a group, not one to one kind no worries girls, engin guys are not like predators la ;)]
alright, so i shall just describe a scenario of what usually happens.
we all go out for a meal.
of course, we split the bill always, but someone has to pay first because i am usually the one with not enough cash [must withdraw later la] or some people only have big notes etc
but i usually remember to pay back that person who foot the bill first
because obviously, it isn't a very small amount you know.
and when i do forget, i pay up immediately when the person asked me for it while feeling embarrassed about having forgotten to pay :(
this is a perfectly normal scenario at least for me.
what gets on my nerves is
when a large group of people probably share a dessert or a side dish,
which doesn't cost much to begin with, start asking people for money ><
firstly, i hate it when guys do it immediately
it gives me a feeling like, oh you don't have this money straightaway you will drop dead immediately
secondly, it doesn't cost much to begin with, so you will just end up getting probably 1dollar coins from everyone, i don't know how you guys can feel fine with it when personally as a girl [girls usually have bigger wallets ma] i find coins really irritating.
so usually what my guyfriends will do,
"aiya, nevermind nevermind, doesn't cost much anyway"
and then us girls will smile our sweetest smiles and say thank you :D
but then once in a while, some guy will be all so
"everybody, **bucks each"
and then i will stare daggers at that person secretly and grumpily return the money
and i will always try to return in 10cent coins if possible :)
alright, i'm not so mean actually.
it isn't that i don't want to pay you, i had my share in the food/whatsoever, it is my right to pay
but it gets irritating when some guys do it tactlessly
really really irritating
piece of advice to guys [yes MALES]
you should know that there is something wrong with you when you get more frugal than a normal girl.
and yes, don't go around complaining ahhh i am stuck in engin no one likes me blah blah
