let the 21st begin

and the first of my closest girlfriends turn 21!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JING!
[a bit belated i know, but i swear blogger deleted the whole entire blog post before i could publish!]

somehow, all the close girlfriends are all borne in may.
not good for the pocket really, 21st presents don't come cheap
but heck, what's money compared to a memorable 21st you will look back 10 years down the road and still smile at the memories ;)
and yup, i am determined to make that come true for all the close girlfriends!

anyway, details of zijing's big day! heh
the three of us dedicated the whole day for this dear girl, but this dear girl woke up late la tsk
so ice skating was just me and yuge, which was a really fun thing

because the last and only time i ice skated was with her too
[the previous time was at JEC, this time round was the awesome new JCUBE]
i call her my knight in shining Armour; can always count on her to hold onto me :)
so i was saying the last and only time i skated was 4 years ago, after j1 common tests

i was 17 back then! :O really can't remember being so young really, age is catching up
and this is me, 4 years later, still having no clue about ice skating, the only thing i got better at is taking pictures eh? haha
[sidenote: nandos is delicious, drooling just by thinking about the food now]

when one digs up an old blogpost, one does not simply compare pictures from the past with the present.
but heck, that's exactly what i am doing!
i like digging up old pictures because no matter how ugly, noob we all looked last time, they are undeniably part of who we were, and the only reason for who we are now is because of who we used to be :)

that's yuge and she looks so cute! trust me, she's even cuter in real life


now we shall play the spot mel and zjing game

anyway, after 2 times of ice skating,
i can proudly come to a conclusion that
I AM NOT CUT OUT FOR ICE SKATING!
the older i get, the more brittle my bones get
and my balance doesn't seem to be getting any better
so the only positive exponential in this case is my entertainment value for my friends :(

anyway, after 2 hours of ice skating, i was completely worn out by it
now who says it is enjoyable??
but the day has barely started!
we changed and the 4 of us headed out to town
the whole day, we tried to follow the brithday girl's instructions as much as we can, afterall one only gets 1 21st in her whole life
first stop somerset for a bit of shopping for the teacher birthday girl
then us being weird people, ended up at a dessert place, even before we had dinner that is
yuge and i ordered sesame paste and we got high when our teeth got stained with that black black paste haha
well i got the worst end of the deal because it got stuck in the braces and all too



and then, we went to a&f because the birthday girl hasn't been there before! haha

dinner was at paradise dynasty, which i am telling you guys
i am not going anywhere else for lamian and xiao long baos
only paradise dynasty, now that i have discovered this amazing new restaurant!
lamian GOOD
xiao long bao GOOD
ambience GOOD
service GOOD
what's there to not like about it??

i shall go back every possible instance to eat their xiaolongbaos!
totally in love with them now
in fact, i brought daddy anand there for lunch just 2 days after, because i miss the xiaolongbaos too much already


the szechuan soup was really good!
so the other time i went with daddy anand, i had that with lamian
but due to lack of time and all, i didn't finish my lamian, so mad about it ><

 am in love with the interior too!

feels like i stepped into a shanghainese restaurant




the birthday cupcake was from the marmalade pantry!
don't know how it tastes like, ask the birthday girl heh!

you are the best thing RV has ever given me
9 years and counting is indeed an achievement and i am not afraid to flaunt this friendship i have with you girls
we had our drifting apart times during jc period, but somehow fate works its magic and look at us now ;')
so here's to many more years of friendship
and to the birthday girl, have an awesome uni life! :D it will be fun heh
